NEW DELHI: Inter Milan saw their early lead slip away as Bologna secured a 2-2 draw at the San Siro in Serie A action on Saturday.

The scoring started with Francesco Acerbi finding the back of the net just 11 minutes into the match, eluding his defender and heading in a corner delivery. Only two minutes later, Lautaro Martinez extended Inter's lead with a powerful long-range strike from outside the box. With the goal, the Argentinian joined the elite company in having scored 10 or more goals in the opening eight Serie A games for the Nerazzurri.

Bologna managed to reduce the deficit to a single goal 19 minutes into the game. Riccardo Orsolini successfully converted a penalty after a VAR review confirmed that Martinez had pulled on Lewis Ferguson's jersey.

Seven minutes into the second half, Joshua Zirkzee completed the comeback with a well-placed shot from the edge of the penalty area that deceived Inter's goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, finding the bottom corner of the net.

Despite the draw, Inter remain at the top of the Serie A table with 19 points, holding a one-point lead over AC Milan, who are set to face Genoa later on Saturday. Bologna currently occupy the eighth position in the league standings.
