KOLKATA:

Mohammedan Sporting

Club will look to bounce back from their loss to

Tiddim Road Athletic Union

(TRAU) FC in the last match as they face the challenge of

Langsning FC

in a preliminary round Group C clash of the second division I-League at the

Barasat Stadium

on Monday.

The Kolkata club had made a good start to their campaign as they defeated Jamshedpur FC (Reserves) and Chennaiyin FC (Reserves) in their first two matches before going down to TRAU. Mohammedan Sporting are now in third position in Group C with six points after three matches while Langsning are in second spot with seven points following four encounters.

"The loss was a setback for us but there is still a long way to go. The players have put the disappointment behind them and are fully focused on the upcoming home game against Langsning," Mohammedan Sporting Club's head coach Biswajit Bhattacharya was quoted as saying in an official press release of the club. "Langsning are a young team which is full of energy."

On the other hand, Langsning head coach Herring Shangpliang feels that it will be a difficult match for his side, especially because the Kolkata side will be eager to bounce back from their loss against TRAU.

"The loss against TRAU was not a proper reflection of the quality that Mohammedan Sporting possess. It just was not their day," said Shangpliang. "Mohammedan Sporting will be look to bounce back but I am confident that my side will put up a good account of themselves. It is an opportunity for us to rise to the occasion."
