KOLKATA: When Haiti face the challenge of
Ecuador
in their final Group B league match of the Copa America Centenario at the
Metlife Stadium
in
East Rutherford
very early on June 13 (4am IST), a lot of
Mohun Bagan fans will be eager to watch the match to see whether Haiti's
Sony Norde
is put into action in the game.
Sony Norde is the darling of the Mohun Bagan supporters after having played a key role in the Kolkata club winning the I-League title in 2014-15 season followed by the Federation Cup triumph last month. Many Mohun Bagan supporters had watched Haiti's last two group-league games against Peru and Brazil, both of which Haiti lost. Sony Norde also did not get to play in those matches. The Mohun Bagan faithful are now hoping that they will get to watch their club's star player turn out for Haiti against Ecuador.
Haiti are currently at the bottom of Group B with 0 points.
"It is a bit tough to get up so early in the morning to watch matches. However, I did get up for Haiti's last two matches against Peru and Brazil, hoping to see Sony Norde in action. But, I was disappointed as he did not play and I feel he can do a good job on the left wing. I will again get up to watch Haiti's match against Ecuador tomorrow and I hope Sony Norde will get the chance to play," said Sumanta Chakraborty, a Mohun Bagan supporter and a fan of Sony Norde.
