BENGALURU: There was no end to Pakistan’s losing streak. Midfielder Rahis Nabi was inconsolable after his team continued its humiliating run of losses in international football, this time a 0-1 defeat against Nepal that ended their miserable run in the SAFF Championship here on Tuesday.

Their losing streak began with a 1-3 defeat to India in the 2018 SAFF, and Nepal’s win fashioned by substitute Aashish Chaudhary’s strike in the 80th minute means the struggling team, which has now lost a dozen matches in a row, has a herculean task even to make an impression in the World Cup qualifiers.

Except for a few players including Otis Khan, Easah Suliman and Nabi, who played for West Brom, Sunderland and Burnely in their youth teams, the rest of the Pakistan team were not up to the mark.
