Antonio Felix da Costa is the only Formula E driver this season to have secured back-to-back victories. After moving to Jaguar TCS Racing from Porsche, the 34-year-old has been in fine form and ensured his 150th race at the maiden Madrid E-Prix was a special one. What made it even more memorable was the presence of his family and friends, who travelled to Madrid to watch him race. Da Costa has now revealed that he was personally in charge of organising everything for them, from arranging tickets to sorting out merchandise.

Reflecting on the experience of racing in front of his loved ones, Da Costa told FormulaE.com, “Honestly, it’s a dream day. To win in front of so much of my family, they see me leave the house and come back, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes healthy, sometimes not so healthy, and they only hear about it or we discuss it at the dinner table. But they were here today and don’t often get to see me race. So to do it in front of them is just amazing.
I’m very happy with that and, you know, I am an emotional guy and today we just took it up a notch.”

Speaking about his mother, who was seen waving the Portuguese flag during the race, he added, “My mum is a real character. I’m just so happy to see her enjoying it and happy to provide her with these moments, and everyone else. It was a busy week for me as I had to take care of all their tickets and merchandise. I had to do all of that myself, so I’m glad it paid off and everyone looked good. Now we can celebrate together.”
