“With Pit Boost, I usually like those races”: Sebastien Buemi ready for 150th Formula E race in Berlin
Fresh from his win at the 6 Hours of Imola, Formula E driver Sebastien Buemi has his eyes set on the upcoming two races at the Berlin E-Prix, where he will also mark a special feat by registering his 150th race start in Formula E. The Envision Racing driver is prepared and raring to go in Berlin this weekend and has spoken about it ahead of the race weekend. He is currently excelling in three fields at one time, also managing his participation in the World Endurance Championship as well as doing his best in the role of Simulator Driver at Red Bull Racing in Formula One.
Buemi also opened up on how the Pit Boost feature makes the two races at the Berlin double-header stand apart from each other. He explained in a chat with FormulaE.com, “With Pit Boost, I usually like those races. The fact that there is only one Attack Mode, even if it's a bit longer at six minutes, means you need to qualify quite well because the Pit Boost races usually have more energy and less saving. The fact that there is only one Attack Mode also makes it more important to qualify well.”
“And then, obviously, the second race, being more like a traditional race, usually allows you, even if you have a great strategy, to not have to be that fast. Whereas in the first race, you've got to have some proper speed, in my opinion,” he added about the Round 8 race.
The 37-year-old Swiss driver is currently ninth in the Formula E Drivers’ Standings with 43 points. He won his first podium of the season in Jeddah this year.
Talking about the Berlin E-Prix, he has won the German race twice, besides adding a few more podiums at the venue. With such a record, it won’t be a surprise if he manages to add another podium to his list this season.
