F1 wins BAFTA for Sound Design, producer Lewis Hamilton celebrates Brad Pitt film

Things are looking up for Lewis Hamilton as his maiden production venture, F1, won the BAFTA Award in the Best Sound Design category. Starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as Formula 1 drivers, and featuring several real-life F1 drivers in cameo roles, the film was a major box office hit last year. Hamilton took to Instagram to celebrate F1’s BAFTA victory.

Lewis Hamilton shared an F1 poster featuring Brad Pitt on his Instagram Stories with “BAFTA Winner” written across it. The movie was competing against films like Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Warfare, and managed to take home the award. It was also nominated for Best Special Visual Effects and Best Editing at the BAFTA Awards this year.

In addition to the BAFTA win, F1 has earned four Oscar nominations. It is nominated for Best Picture, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, and Best Film Editing.

Lewis Hamilton declares he is not going anywhere in new open letter

Lewis Hamilton is back on track after a disappointing 2025 season, when his Ferrari debut did not go as expected. The seven-time F1 world champion showed promise during three preseason tests while driving the new, shorter, narrower, and lighter SF26 car after Formula One introduced major regulation changes this season.

After the final F1 test in Bahrain, the Ferrari driver shared a note on Instagram announcing he is back with a bang for “one hell of a season.” He wrote alongside several pictures from testing: “That’s a wrap on testing. It’s inspiring to watch a team pull out all the stops to build a car. It’s the most fascinating part of this job for me. Everything is built from scratch and designed and redesigned over and over. And then there are only a few of us who get to put that machine to the test. That feeling never gets old. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone on the team back at the factory for the hard work to get to this point!! I am truly grateful.”

Opening up further, he added, “I love this job so much, and I love working with my team and driving for the fans. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do, and I’m excited for the season ahead. I’m reset and refreshed. I’m not going anywhere, so stick with me. For a moment, I forgot who I was, but thanks to you and your support, you’re not going to see that mindset again. I know what needs to be done. This is going to be one hell of a season. I’ve given everything to be here today. Let’s go, team!!!”

He will return to competition at the season opener in Melbourne. The Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for March 8, and the season is expected to be full of surprises amid the new regulations.
