Lewis Hamilton is now a Ferrari driver, and despite his recent challenges, his new team members remain confident in his abilities. Ferrari’s Chassis Technical Director, Loic Serra, expressed unwavering belief in Hamilton’s potential, stating that none of the difficulties Lewis has faced in the past have shaken his confidence. Serra is convinced that Hamilton will match the performance of Ferrari’s car with ease.
Ferrari technical director not worried over Lewis Hamilton’s past performance
When asked about Lewis Hamilton’s recent struggles on track, Serra told Gazzetta dello Sport, “Lewis’ difficulties in recent times? They don’t worry me at all. He’s an extraordinary driver, always eager for new challenges, and I am certain that he will be just as fast at Ferrari as he was during his best years in F1.”
Hamilton, who has only won two races in the past three years with Mercedes, struggled to adapt to the ground-effect cars, which didn’t suit his driving style. However, after recently completing his first laps in the 2025 Ferrari at the Fiorano circuit, Hamilton reported feeling comfortable in the new car.
“I don’t feel that I need to change my driving style too much right now. I’m actually feeling quite comfortable, just taking it one step at a time,” he said. “We’ll see as we progress through the season and get to the real race circuits how much I’ll need to adjust. But the key is to stay open-minded and flexible.”
Lewis Hamilton’s move from Mercedes to Ferrari
Last week, Hamilton shared a few photos and a video offering his fans a glimpse of him in Ferrari colors. The Instagram post was captioned, “Ciao Tifosi, ciao SF-25.” And his fans flooded the comments section with praise.
After quitting Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton made his debut in Ferrari’s colours at the recent launch of the 2025 Formula 1 season, held at London’s O2 Arena. The official F1 Instagram page also shared a video of his arrival on stage, teasing fans with the caption: “Lewis Hamilton. Charles Leclerc. A terrifying pairing to see in your mirrors, but a pleasure to see on stage for the first time.”
