George Russell’s girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt joins him in Shanghai after missing Australian GP, couple goes on food adventure
George Russell is one happy man after winning the Formula One season opener under the new regulations. The winner of the Australian Grand Prix didn’t have girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt by his side in Melbourne as she recovered from surgery, but she was among the first to reach Shanghai along with Russell for the Round 2 race. The couple have shared solo pictures of themselves from Shanghai ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix lined up for the upcoming weekend.
His girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share her pictures from the same spot. She looked stunning in a stylish ruffled jacket and denims as she too smiled brightly under the sun. She followed it with a glimpse of a Chinese delicacy they savoured during their trip around the city.
Fans loved Russell’s jacket and how good he looked in it with a smile on his face. Reacting to his picture posted the day after the Australian Grand Prix, a fan wrote, “That was quick. LEGEND.” Another wrote in the comments, “Looking good, feeling better.” One more commented, “The smile, the cutest thing.” A fan also wrote: “You look amazing, sweetie.”
George Russell, meanwhile, put up a mind-blowing performance at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne by taking pole and then winning the Australian Grand Prix. Not only him, his Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli also finished on the podium in second place. Russell called the race “fun”, while most of his competitors shared their displeasure with the new F1 rules.
He confidently turned down comments coming from Lando Norris, who complained about the risk of a big accident in case of contact during overtaking. Reacting to it, Russell told RacingNews365.com, “If he was winning, I don’t think he’d be saying the same.” He further added, “When we’ve had the best cars and the least tyre degradation, and when we’ve been happiest, everyone still complains that the racing is rubbish.”
Now it remains to be seen if Russell can put Mercedes on the podium again.
