“The night I'd waited for my whole life.”: Lando Norris shares GRWM moments from FIA Awards

Lando Norris is arguably the happiest F1 driver at the moment after winning the F1 World Championship this season. The newly crowned McLaren champion has now shared some behind-the-scenes moments of himself getting ready for the FIA Awards, where he was honoured as the title winner. He beat four-time champion Max Verstappen by just two points, as well as his teammate Oscar Piastri, who dominated the championship in the first half of the season.

Lando Norris posted a series of pictures from the FIA Awards night, where he appeared dapper in a black suit. He captioned the photos, “The night I'd waited for my whole life.”

The photos show Norris admiring his reflection in the mirror as he adjusts his suit, ties his shoelaces, and fastens his watch. There is also a glimpse of the celebratory party featuring a cake with a bold ‘1’ design on it.

Fans flooded the comments section with witty reactions. One wrote, “Find someone who looks at you like Lando looks at his WDC trophy.” Another joked, “I didn’t know you could LAND On a spy look.” Praising his style, another fan said, “Sheeesh bro suits up niiice.” One more commented, “You're elegant, lend me the suit please.”

The FIA Awards were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan earlier this week. Norris was accompanied by his girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, who complemented his look in a striking black lace gown.

Speaking at the event, Norris also talked about Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, who pushed him to his limits throughout the season. He said, “I had two other guys who were pretty freaking fast and certainly made my life tough this year. Oscar, the whole way since round one, I knew he was probably going to be the toughest guy to beat, and then you can never count out Max — he’s Max. We certainly never counted him out, and for anyone who might have done, he proved you wrong. I’m glad we kept ourselves on our toes and we were ready for such a thing, but it was a pleasure to fight Max, a four-time world champion.”

Norris has ample time to soak in the happiness of winning the title. He dedicated his F1 title to his parents at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
