Beginning as a designer at the junior levels, he is now appointed as the technical director for the Haas F1 team. In the year 2001, Andrea De Zordo started his professional career in his hometown, Italy, when he was appointed as a stress engineer for the Minardi team. Andrea De Zordo’s about three years at the Minardi team gave him a lot of experience and helped him develop his technical skills. Later, in the year 2004, Andrea De Zordo was appointed by the high-end racing team McLaren as a senior design engineer and continued for about five years.


This position made Andrea De Zordo a potential engineer for other Formula One teams. Further, in the year 2009, he was assigned to Ferrari in Italy, and he had the longest career with Ferrari, from the year 2009 to 2021, for about twelve years, where he was not only appointed to a senior position but also promoted to many other senior positions in his expertise.

What is Andrea De Zordo’s role in Haas?

Andrea De Zordo left Ferrari as a deputy chief engineer and became a part of the Haas F1 team in the year 2021 as a chief designer. Following his growing expertise in technical skills and design, Andrea De Zordo was promoted to technical director at Haas in 2024, succeeding Simone Resta.

Andrea De Zordo has not only gained fame across Formula One teams for his intelligence but has also been praised by his seniors and colleagues for his approach to his work. Andrea De Zordo has also been recognised for developing and providing technical direction for the VF 24 car, one of the major racing cars in the 2024 Formula One season.
