Amit Rohidas joins as sports officer of ECoR

BHUBANESWAR: Amit Rohidas, a member of Indian national men's hockey team, has joined the

East Coast Railway

(ECoR) as senior sports officer. Earlier, he was working in the Western Railway as an officer on special duty (OSD) in Sports.


Amit and his team recently won the Bronze medal in Hockey defeating Germany at the

Tokyo Olympics

. ECoR general manager Vidya Bhushan congratulated him. "His joining will definitely motivate players in all sports disciplines," he added.

He was offered the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) job by the state government on August 11. This defender has recently got the

Biju Patnaik Sports Award

for outstanding performance in sports and games by the

Odisha government
