British swimmer Adam Peaty has once again made headlines, but this time it is not for his performances in the pool. The Olympic champion is preparing to marry Holly Ramsay, daughter of the world's finest celebrity chef,
Gordon Ramsay, on Christmas Day. However, the upcoming wedding has become the center of a family controversy after reports claimed Peaty’s mother, Caroline, was not invited to Holly’s hen party.
According to several media outlets, Holly Ramsay organized a fun-filled hen party with her close friends and family members. The guest list reportedly included former popstar Victoria Beckham, a close family friend. However, what caught public attention was the absence of Adam Peaty’s estranged mother, Caroline. The move has sparked tension within Peaty’s family, with some relatives expressing disappointment online.
Adam Peaty’s aunt slams daughter-in-law Holly Ramsay’s hen party guest list
Adam Peaty’s aunt, Louise Williams, openly criticized Gordon Ramsay’s daughter’s decision and shared her feelings on Instagram. She wrote, “@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person, you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, whom I have loved and continue to love deeply.”
She also expressed her disappointment towards her nephew, Adam Peaty, for not addressing the situation. Williams added, “I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters, and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”
Despite the controversy, Adam Peaty has not made any public comment on the issue.
On the other hand, Gordon Ramsay has also remained silent on the controversy. The world-renowned chef was also unable to attend the special party due to the stitches on his face.
Previously, Ramsay had revealed that Peaty asked him and his wife for permission before proposing to their daughter. He went on record to say that he and his wife "couldn't have asked for anyone better" as their son-in-law. He also talked about how the British swimmer had already informed them about his proposal plans. "He's a very nice guy, so grounded. Those two get on so well. It's a blessing," Gordon had said.
As the couple continues to prepare for their marriage on Christmas Day, it will be interesting to see how Adam Peaty responds to the family fiasco and repairs the damage caused in the relationship between his mother and his fiancée.
