American skier Lindsey Vonn resumes training four weeks after horror Winter Olympics crash, gets praise from NBA legend LeBron James
Lindsey Vonn has shared a hopeful recovery update just weeks after suffering a serious crash at the Winter Olympics in Italy. The 41-year-old skiing legend had a frightening fall during her opening downhill attempt. The accident happened only days after she had already injured her cruciate ligament in training. She was immediately airlifted to a hospital where doctors confirmed that she had broken her leg. The injury required surgery and raised serious concerns about her recovery.
Despite the painful setback, Vonn has already returned to light training. She posted videos on Instagram showing her lifting weights in the gym and slowly putting weight on her injured leg. Her update reassured fans who feared her injuries were much worse.

Lindsey Vonn’s latest Instagram post showed the former Olympic champion working out as part of her early rehabilitation process. In one clip she was seen lifting weights, while another video showed her carefully placing weight on her injured leg.
In the caption, Vonn acknowledged the difficult period she has been facing but said she remains grateful and motivated. She explained that the journey has included many tough moments, but she continues to push forward every day. According to her message, her main focus now is simply getting healthy again and taking the recovery process slowly.
Support quickly poured in from fans and fellow athletes. Among those sending encouragement was NBA superstar LeBron James. He commented, “You Got This!! Small thing to a GIANT!! LFG!!”
Earlier, Vonn had opened up about the emotional impact of the injury. She admitted that the physical fight started immediately after the crash, but the mental challenge became clear later. She described how the reality of the situation suddenly hit her hard. Still, she said dealing with injuries is something she has faced many times in her career, and every setback has helped her grow stronger.
Vonn also revealed that she stayed in hospital longer than expected after losing a significant amount of blood during multiple surgeries. Doctors had to perform a blood transfusion to help stabilize her condition. She explained that the pain was severe at first, but the treatment helped her start feeling better and eventually allowed her to leave the hospital.
Now with the long road ahead, Vonn remains determined. She said she plans to begin rehabilitation immediately and will approach recovery the same way she has handled past injuries.
