Brooks Koepka’s PGA Tour return brings renewed intrigue to the 2026 calendar
The golf season of 2026 is set to be one of the storylines the PGA Tour will be watching intently as Brooks Koepka returns to the golf course. Recently reinstated in January to the Returning Member Program, Koepka was required to make a $5 million charity donation, a five-year loss of player equity, and was ineligible for FedEx Cup bonuses this season. With the administrative challenges no longer looming, the emphasis has now squarely settled on his results in the course.
Koepka comes with a problematic recent resume. His LIV Golf League had historic highs- he became the first golfer to win five LIV golf championships and won the 2023 PGA Championship, which makes him the first active LIV golfer to win a major. However, a minor decline in form in the year 2025 resulted in him ending up 31st in the LIV rankings, which is a concern about the smoothness of his game back into the tour he left, and where he ranked 19th in the world. In early 2026, Koepka was no longer in the elite; in the Official World Golf Ranking, he is ranked 263.
The greatest issue, though, has been putting. He was close to the bottom of the leaders in strokes gained putting at Torrey Pines, and his figures through the season place him in the company of the weakest in the Tour on the greens. Having his usual Scotty Cameron blade changed halfway through with one made by TaylorMade Spider Tour X mallet resulted in only slight superiority.

Early PGA Tour results and statistical concerns
Being out since 2012, Koepka made his comeback at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he had just made the cut and was currently standing at 56th. A week later, again, he could not enter the cut during the WM Phoenix Open, which he termed as one of his most comfortable experiences with the tour. Accuracy in his driving has been a problem in itself, and Koepka is 153rd on the Tour, which confirms the fact that he has spent too much time in the rough, as he openly acknowledges. The greatest issue, though, has been putting. Reasons for optimism heading into Florida
Nevertheless, the traces of the elite ability of Koepka have not disappeared despite the adversities. He is 12th near the hole, 22nd in strokes gained on approach, and an impressive 6th around the greens. As soon as the Cognizant Classic follows (to kick off the Florida Swing), Koepka will seek to exploit home-state vibes and no longer make good ball-striking translate to fewer points.Get the latest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 updates, including the full schedule, teams, live scores, points table, and key series stats such as top run-scorers and wicket-takers.
