Carlos Alcaraz offers surprising and playful deal to Tommy Paul just days after €10M yacht decision

Carlos Alcaraz is enjoying his time both on and off the court right now. The World No. 1 recently made headlines after reports confirmed he has ordered a luxury yacht worth around €10 million. Just days after that news came out, he made a lighthearted but interesting offer to American player Tommy Paul and fans loved it.

The 22-year-old Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz, shared that his custom yacht will take more than a year to be ready. While speaking to Tennis Channel, he explained how being out at sea helps him relax and step away from the pressure of tennis. That’s when he brought up Paul and joked about making a deal involving fishing trips.

Carlos Alcaraz did not hide his excitement while talking about his new yacht project. Reports from Gazzetta dello Sport say the boat is a 27-meter Sunreef Ultima 88 catamaran, being built with Sunreef Yachts. It is expected to take around one to one-and-a-half years to complete.

Speaking about it, Alcaraz said, “Mine, they’re gonna build it. It’s going to take one year, one year and a half. So I’m super excited about it… During the sea, everything is like chill. My thing is to disconnect from everything. So, I am super excited about it.”

Then came the moment that caught attention. He added, “I saw Tommy Paul saying like… I better invite him. I will for sure. But I’ll tell him you’re gonna take me out for fishing. Half and half, I’m gonna make a deal with him.”

While this fun exchange grabbed attention, both players are also doing well on court. Tommy Paul recently won the ATP Houston title, beating Roman Andres Burruchaga in the final. That gave him strong momentum at the start of the clay season.

On the other side, Carlos Alcaraz is focused on defending his title at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He started his campaign with a win over Sebastian Baez and is now preparing for tougher matches ahead.

At the same time, the race for World No. 1 is getting tighter. Jannik Sinner is closing the gap quickly. Still, Alcaraz made it clear that rankings are not his main focus right now.

He said, “I’m going to lose No. 1 in the world at some point. I don’t know if it is going to be at this tournament or another one. I will just try to play my best and let’s see what happens, but for me the No. 1 spot is not in my mind right now.” For now, Alcaraz seems calm, focused, and enjoying the journey, whether it’s on clay courts or out at sea.
