Anthony Joshua lost his two close friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, but survived the fatal smash in Nigeria just before Christmas. Since then, AJ has returned to the UK and attended his friends' funerals. Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, offered a brief update to talkSPORT on Joshua, who is being given time to heal and mourn the horrific event. Hearn stated,
“I think, to be honest, at this stage, it’s definitely a no comment from us. Just because of the respect for Anthony.

“Obviously, with everything he’s been through with the tragic loss of Sina and Latz.
“At the moment, Anthony needs time. Time and privacy. There will be no conversations from us about a career, any moves, what’s next.
“This is a terrible tragedy, and Anthony’s going to need his own time, physically and emotionally.
“And at the moment, there’s nothing to discuss or say. Let’s give him his time and pray for him and, of course, all the families involved in this terrible incident.”

Anthony Joshua and his driver Adeniyi Kayode escapes injuries
Adeniyi Kayode, 47, was driving a black Lexus SUV that crashed into a parked lorry, ripping open the passenger side, on a major road near Lagos. Long-time friends of Joshua’s, personal trainer “Latz”, and fitness coach Sina, both 36, were both killed instantly during the car crash.
Apparently, Anthony Joshua and driver Kayode miraculously avoided serious harm. Father-of-three Kayode appeared before a magistrate in Sagamu, charged with dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, and having no licence. He might spend the rest of his life in prison if he is found guilty of driving recklessly, causing bodily harm, and property damage.
After fleeing the scene, the driver of the red truck, which had parked next to the highway to unload a shipment of soy beans, was on the run. Kayode's trial has now been postponed until January 20.
Anthony Joshua broke the silence, took to social media to share some heartfelt photos, before his friends’ funerals took place. He shared two pictures on Instagram that appeared to show him with the relatives of his unfortunate buddies, with the post caption, “My brothers keeper.”
