Daniel Cormier calls Jon Jones weird but admits he is one of the toughest fighters
Daniel Cormier made his feelings very clear during the August 26 episode of Good Guy/Bad Guy on ESPN. He said the problem is simple:
“I only answer the questions asked to me.” He praised Jon Jones, saying: he is the toughest guy he’s ever met, the hardest fight, and one of the smartest in the octagon.
But, Cormier added,
“the guy is so weird. He’s such a weird guy… It’s the negative thing that he latches onto because that’s what he wants to do. He wants to latch onto that negative thing. When in reality, I feel like I was very fair.” He also compared his own sports background to Jon’s. Cormier listed his wrestling wins, national titles, and Olympic teams, and noted that he became UFC champion in two weight classes.
He pointed out that he worked hard too, even though Jones was successful, Cormier felt his own record was just as strong.
