Former UFC champion
Ronda Rousey recently and definitively shut down the rumors about her potential return to the Octagon. Speculation linked the high-profile superstar to the upcoming UFC White House event. The straightforward response of the athlete had made her priorities clear, while bringing an end to the fan-fuelled fantasy of her return. Here is what she said during her recent appearance on a podcast.
Ronda Rousey’s blunt response dismisses rumors of her fight at the upcoming event
Social media was completely abuzz with the talk of former UFC player Ronda Rousey’s participation at the major UFC event, which is planned to happen at the White House. Instead of continuing to let the rumors fly, Rousey came ahead and addressed it directly during a recent podcast appearance on The Lapsed Fan. With it, she has left no room for any interpretations.
Rousey plainly stated, she will not fight at the UFC White House event, which is scheduled for 2026. While she did acknowledge that in the combat sports, one can
“never say never,” for one’s return, she was quite swift to shoot down the notion of her participation during this event. She said,
“I ain’t fighting at the fu**ing White House.”Rousey further concluded with her now-viral line, explaining that even if she got offered the fight, she would decline. As per her,
“I got better sh*t to do. My kids need pasta!”Ronda Rousey and her history of comeback sparked the entire speculation
This isn’t the first time that fans have hoped for the return of Rousey. She, after her initial UFC exit, facing 2 devastating knockout losses, which felt a bit abrupt to many, did come back. Her first loss was in 2015, to Holly Holm. Following it, next year she had her other defeat at UFC 207, from Amanda Nunes. The 29-year-old then stepped away from MMA competition, citing health and personal reasons.
The pattern of her breaks, after her comeback attempt, is why the rumors persisted. A similar speculation even emerged in 2024. It was her comeback for the UFC 300 card. At that time, UFC President Dana White was the one who publicly denied all rumors about Rousey’s comeback. Now, it is Rousey herself who has taken control of the narrative and made it clear that the other projects, including her kids, are now her sole priorities, closing doors for all speculations.
