Soon after that loss, Swiatek decided to part ways with her coach Wim Fissette. That decision raised many questions about her next step. Now, there is some clarity.

She has started working with Francisco Roig, a well-known coach who spent many years with Rafael Nadal. Roig was part of Nadal’s team during most of his Grand Slam wins. He also had a short stint with Emma Raducanu and earlier worked with Matteo Berrettini.

Right now, Swiatek is putting in long practice sessions at Nadal’s academy. In the video clips, she is seen listening closely, adjusting her strokes, and having detailed chats with Nadal and Roig. It looks focused and calm, not rushed.

Roig brings a lot of experience. As a former player, he had a long doubles career and later became known for his coaching work. After retiring in 2001, he joined Nadal’s team in 2005 and stayed for many successful years.

For Swiatek, this move is about getting back to her best level. She has even skipped the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers to focus on what she called “quality work” on her game.
