Iga Swiatek waves off cameraman while changing clothes after beating Elena Rybakina at Cincinnati Open semi final
Iga Swiatek asked a camera operator to step back during her semi-final match at the Cincinnati Open on August 18, 2025. She had just beaten Elena Rybakina in straight sets—7-5, 6-3—to reach the final. Right after winning the first set, she walked to her bench, took off her hat, and gestured to the cameraman so she could change her top in private. This showed she wanted a little space in that hot moment on court. It didn’t stop her; she stayed focused, won the match, and moved on to face Jasmine Paolini in the final.
Iga Swiatek was showing signs of the heat during her semi-final match against Elena Rybakina in Cincinnati on August 18, 2025. After winning the first set 7-5, she walked back to her bench and took off her hat and waved to the camera operator and even wagged her finger at the camera operator.
It was obvious that Iga Swiatek did not want to be recorded when she was changing shirts. So, the camera operator moved away and Iga Swiatek changed her shirt and took her time getting ready for the second set without fanfare.
Iga Swiatek stayed calm the entire match. After regaining her focus, she closed out the match with a 6-3 second set. Her win over Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina took about an hour and 38 minutes. That victory brought Iga Świątek to her first Cincinnati Open final 2025.

She talked about how fast the match was at the start. She said, “The level was pretty crazy. We played so fast that sometimes we couldn’t run to the second ball. I was there to play with intensity and good quality. I’m happy with the performance.”
Now, she will play Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the final. It will be their sixth meeting, and Iga Swiatek has won all their previous matches.
