Nick "FaZe Lacy" has given harsh criticism over the association that FaZe Clan has with former members embroiled in recent controversies. His comments came following the heated allegations and counterclaims that have shaken the esports and streaming communities with Nordan "Rain," Thomas "Temperrr," and Richard "Banks."
Rain's explosive allegations
The affair apparently awakened on September 14, 2025, when Rain stated that he had left FaZe Clan; the reason behind his departure was linked to an incident with "a pedophile." In his livestream, Rain referred to a past conversation with Temperrr, in which he alleges that Thomas said that he had been involved with two underage girls.
That same day appeared the response of Temperrr, who uploaded two videos on X, in the first, he denied the accusations of pedophilia and accused Rain of trying to blackmail him for money; in the second, he proceeded to narrate events that had allegedly occurred years ago in New York, which included shooting himself in the foot when admitting that he had slept with a 17-year-old after leaving a club.

FaZe Lacy Draws a Line
As the online discourse gets bigger, according to FaZe Lacy, the real issue is the way clip pages and social media accounts continue to link FaZe Clan to former members of the organization. “Stop placing FaZe in front of people's names who aren't FaZe! They are not in FaZe anymore,” he emphasized during his livestream. The cause of the controversy, according to Lacy, are events that actually took place even before this roster was ever conceived.
Protecting FaZe Clan’s Current Identity
Lacy was upset describing how the group's reputation is being dragged along by things out of their control. "This was before any of us were even in FaZe. So, I'm tired of this s*t falling onto us, and our name getting dragged down, and all the work we put in to build our group to what it is right now because of old s*t that we had nothing to do with. Stop affiliating us...",he said.
The implication of his statement points to a greater concern for esports organizations-the issue of protecting brand integrity when controversies concerning legacy members resurface. With FaZe Clan having gone through multiple changes in the last few years, Lacy’s statements represent the attempts of the new generation to dissociate their work from old scandals.
While some fans have taken side with Rain or Temperrr in the ongoing back-and-forth, others maintain with Lacy that the current FaZe roster should not be held accountable for actions of individuals who are no longer on the team. With questions asked now on accountability, branding, and the blurred lines of individuals going from creators to the organizations they once represented, the debate continues to fuel social media chatter.
