The incident occurred around 6–7 am. People here were already alert and stayed away from the water. A house in front has been completely buried, with cattle trapped underneath. In this area alone, there are about 50 houses, with another 50 just ahead. Now, everything has been destroyed. Several casualties have been reported.
Due to heavy rain late last night, all rivers are in spate. Cloudbursts have occurred at many places. Lives have been disrupted, and many connecting roads have been blocked. Several bridges are in danger. Once the water level recedes, we will work towards restoration. The Prime Minister took stock of the situation this morning, and the Union Home Minister is also monitoring it. All concerned departments are working on a war footing.
