Early reports had claimed that the bout carried a total purse of $17 million (₹1520 crore), with both fighters earning $8.5 million (₹760 crore) each. Those figures created huge buzz online and within the boxing world. Fans and experts questioned whether such numbers were realistic, even for an event of this scale.

Veteran combat-sports journalist Ariel FC Helwani later pushed back on those claims. He suggested the numbers were inflated. According to Helwani, both Joshua and Paul were more likely paid in the $40-50 million range each, which converts to roughly ₹330-415 crore per fighter. Even at that level, the bout still ranks among boxing’s top 20 individual paydays and stands as one of the biggest earnings of Joshua’s celebrated career.

Netflix clearly found a winning formula by putting Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul in the same ring on Friday night in Miami, Florida.
