Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest international goal scorer in men’s football history. He has scored 143 goals in 226 matches for Portugal. He made his debut in 2003 and continues to score even after two decades. Ronaldo also holds the record for the most international hat-tricks, with 10 to his name. His consistency at the highest level makes him unique.

Lionel Messi is second on the list. The Argentine superstar has scored 115 goals in 196 appearances. Messi’s goals helped Argentina win the Copa America and the FIFA World Cup. His rivalry with Ronaldo has defined an era of football and pushed both players to new heights.

Iran’s Ali Daei sits third with 108 goals in 148 matches. He was the first player in history to reach 100 international goals. Daei remains Asia’s top international scorer. India’s Sunil Chhetri is fourth overall with 95 goals. He is a true icon of Indian football and inspired a generation with his leadership and dedication.

Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku and Malaysia’s Mokhtar Dahari are tied with 89 goals each. Lukaku is still active and continues to add to his tally. Dahari remains one of Asia’s greatest forwards of all time.

Several legends also feature just outside the top ranks. Hungary’s Ferenc Puskas scored 84 goals in only 85 matches. Zambia’s Godfrey Chitalu is Africa’s top scorer. Germany’s Miroslav Klose, despite being the highest World Cup goal scorer, does not make the top 10 list. Brazil great Pele scored 77 goals, while Neymar has surpassed him with 79.
