UFC president Dana White confirms to promote Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua superfight later this year weeks after feud with Eddie Hearn

UFC president Dana White has revealed that he expects to promote the long-awaited heavyweight boxing clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua later this year. The all-British showdown has been discussed for several years and now appears closer than ever, with reports suggesting the fight could take place in November. Although the official venue and date are still unconfirmed, excitement around the contest continues to grow. The event is also expected to be streamed globally on Netflix, adding even more attention to one of boxing’s biggest possible matchups.

Before the super fight can become official, Anthony Joshua must first overcome heavyweight opponent Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout will mark Joshua’s first appearance since his stoppage win over Jake Paul in December. Since then, the former world champion has dealt with emotional and physical struggles following a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends. Tyson Fury, meanwhile, returned to the ring earlier this year after a long absence and defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April.

Dana White recently shared his confidence about being involved in the promotion of the Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight. Speaking during Nina-Marie Daniele livestream on Kick, the UFC boss explained that he expects to handle promotional duties for the event on behalf of Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh. White suggested that plans are already moving forward behind the scenes for the blockbuster heavyweight contest.

The potential involvement of White would add another interesting element to the fight build-up. If confirmed as lead promoter, it could place him directly alongside boxing promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn, both of whom have been linked to the event through their relationships with Fury and Joshua. White and Hearn have exchanged public criticism several times in the past, making their possible collaboration a major talking point.

Reports also indicate Tyson Fury may take part in another tune-up fight before facing Joshua. Frank Warren recently hinted that Fury could return once more before the proposed November date. Fury has only recently returned from a 16-month break and appears eager to stay active ahead of a possible mega-fight.

Joshua’s immediate focus remains on his upcoming fight against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia.
