Merab Dvalishvili’s ambulance video goes viral after UFC 323 loss to Petr Yan
Merab Dvalishvili posted the video on his official Instagram account @merab.dvalishvili late Sunday night. The clip showed flashing lights from the ambulance in Las Vegas.
Merab Dvalishvili sat upright on the stretcher with a big smile on his face. Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling was also inside, talking with him during the ride.
Fans quickly reacted online. One comment read, “Respect. Always smiling, even after war.” Another wrote, “That’s a real fighter.” Sports outlets like Bleacher Report and TNT Sports reshared the clip, calling Merab Dvalishvili tough and unbreakable.
The ambulance trip followed standard UFC rules. Fighters often go to the hospital for scans or stitches after long fights.
Merab Dvalishvili had just spent 25 minutes in the cage, trading strikes and takedowns with Petr Yan. Doctors usually check for cuts, swelling, or hidden injuries after title bouts.
Earlier that night, Petr Yan controlled much of the fight. The judges scored it 49–46, 49–46, and 48–47. Merab Dvalishvili pushed forward with his wrestling, but Petr Yan defended well.
He stayed on his feet and landed clean punches throughout the fight. After the bout, Petr Yan said, “I trained for this moment. I knew my striking would make the difference.”
The fight marked a big change from their earlier meeting in 2023, when Merab Dvalishvili dominated Petr Yan with constant takedown attempts. This time in Las Vegas, Petr Yan adjusted and reclaimed the bantamweight belt.
Merab Dvalishvili did not speak much after the loss, but his video said enough. Smiling in the ambulance showed his mindset. The belt may be gone, but his spirit clearly remains strong.
