On its website, WBRC published a tribute titled “WBRC remembers Christina Chambers as ‘spark of joy’ who made everyone better.”

The article stated, “Christina Chambers had a beautiful ability to naturally feel like a friend immediately.” It also noted that when she joined the sports team in 2015, it was made up entirely of men. Her colleague Rick Karle said, “She made sideline better, she made this TV station better, she made everyone in the newsroom better.”

WBRC also shared a message on X, writing, “We are absolutely heartbroken to share this news. We have confirmed former WBRC sports reporter Christina Chambers is one of the two people found dead in a Hoover home Tuesday morning. Please keep their family and your WBRC family in your thoughts as we navigate this loss.”

Chambers became a broadcast journalism teacher at Thompson High School. Dr. Wayne Vickers released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Christina Chambers.” He added, “Her dedication to them and to her profession was evident in everything she did.”
