J.T. Realmuto and Bo Bichette draw serious interest from the Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies made an early move this offseason by re-signing Kyle Schwarber. Since then, things have been quiet, but that may be changing fast.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Phillies are now one of several big-market teams showing strong interest in Bo Bichette.

Heyman wrote on X that Bo Bichette, who is 27, has drawn attention from teams like the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and the Toronto Blue Jays.

He also pointed out that Bo Bichette is the only player who hit .300 against fastballs, breaking balls, and changeups last season.

While that buzz grows, the Phillies are also dealing with J.T. Realmuto’s future. MLB insider Jon Marks reported that the team has told J.T. Realmuto to speed up his decision.



If the veteran catcher waits too long, the Phillies are ready to move on and explore other options. This puts real pressure on Realmuto, who has been a key leader for the club in recent years.

The Toronto Blue Jays are not slowing down either. Earlier this week, they signed Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto to a four-year, $60 million deal.

The move added power to the lineup, but it did not close the door on bigger names. MLB reporter Keegan Matheson shared that Toronto is still in the mix for Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette.

“You can’t be out of a market you don’t know the cost of yet,” Matheson posted, adding that the Blue Jays are willing to wait for the right price.

Toronto has been linked to a possible reunion with Bo Bichette since the offseason began.

No deal is done yet, but league sources say the Blue Jays remain aggressive as they try to bounce back from last year’s World Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
