The star player also spoke to the media on Monday about his decision to rejoin the New York Mets. As per Associated Press, he said, “For me, this was it. Throughout the entire offseason, we had the best dialogue from the Mets and that was it. This was the best opportunity for me, and I’m very happy to be back.”
Pete Alonso also acknowledged how he could not give his best to the team in 2024. He added,
“I didn’t have my best year. That’s no secret. For me, I’m just really happy I was able to make those adjustments, and I’m really looking forward to having a runway this year.”
