Prince Harry upset as Meghan Markle’s World Series posts stir backlash and reopen royal wounds online
Prince Harry is not happy about Meghan Markle’s new Instagram posts, a source told Page Six. Meghan shared photos and videos of Harry and their kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, having fun at a pumpkin patch and carving jack-o’-lanterns.
But what caught the most attention was a post from World Series Game 4 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Meghan Markle posted a photo with Harry sitting beside Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson in the stands. The source told Page Six that Harry feels “very aware” she is “parading him around” and “doesn’t love it.”
During the game, when the couple appeared on the big screen, fans started booing, according to Page Six. Reps for the couple did not comment on the story. The outlet reported that Prince Harry isn’t enjoying the attention from Meghan’s public posts, especially when they tie back to their royal life.
The source told Page Six that Harry doesn’t like how Meghan Markle connects her new brand to their royal history. Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, just launched a candle called “Signature Candle No. 519.” The number “519” stands for their wedding date, May 19, 2018. The insider said Prince Harry thinks this kind of branding isn’t the best look.
A few weeks ago, Meghan Markle also posted a short video from Washington, D.C. In that clip, she showed a blue and white bag with her royal initials “DS,” meaning Duchess of Sussex.
The source said Harry feels posts like these make her seem like she’s showing off, comparing her to Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, who was often criticized for doing similar things.
The source added that Prince Harry has changed a lot since leaving royal life. “The shine has worn off, which is fair at this point in a relationship,” the source said. “But he’s also blown up his life for her.” The source also noted that Prince Harry used to be “universally loved,” but now, it feels like “the exact opposite, actively booed.
