The idea of a mascot came to the Minnesota Twins in the year 1980 with the name Twinkie the Loon, and it lasted for a year, after which there was a gap of 20 years, as the team had no official mascot. After a 20-year gap, in the year 1999, the Minnesota Twins introduced another mascot to boost the players in the game and to entertain the fans, as well as connect with the younger fans.
