The New York Yankees will turn to lefty Carlos Rodon (1-2, 5.19 ERA) to start tonight's series finale against the San Francisco Giants at Yankee Stadium. San Francisco's Logan Webb (1-0, 1.89 ERA) will take the mound against Rodon in the 1:35 p.m. ET contest.
On March 10, Gerrit Cole visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, and it was decided that Tommy John surgery would be performed. The right-hander was effectively done for the 2025 campaign the following day when the procedure was performed.
The six-time All-Star had been dealing with elbow discomfort since a spring training game against the Minnesota Twins, when he gave up six runs in 2 2/3 innings on five hits. Gerrit Cole has dealt with elbow issues, missing the beginning of the 2024 season after being placed on the injured list with right elbow inflammation before returning in June.
