The New Zealand fighter shared his thoughts on social media soon after the fight. Oliveira did not stay silent. The Brazilian responded strongly to Hooker and suggested that his rival should pay more attention to his own career.

The fight at UFC 326 was one-sided. Charles Oliveira used a grappling-heavy strategy from the opening round. He repeatedly took Max Holloway to the ground and kept him under pressure. Holloway spent most of the fight defending submission attempts. The former featherweight champion struggled to create meaningful offense.

As the results were announced, Oliveira became emotional while receiving the BMF belt. The moment showed how important the win was for him. But Dan Hooker did not see it the same way. On social media, Hooker suggested that showing tears while receiving the BMF belt did not match the image of a “BMF” champion. In another message, he implied that the belt had lost its meaning after such an emotional celebration.

The comments quickly drew attention because Hooker and Oliveira already had tension earlier in 2025. Their feud started when Oliveira claimed Hooker had turned down an offer to fight him at a UFC event in Rio. Hooker strongly denied that claim and the rivalry continued online.

Oliveira soon responded to the criticism. The Brazilian suggested that Hooker seemed unusually focused on him and joked that the New Zealander might even be obsessed and in love with him. He also advised Hooker to spend more time thinking about his own fighting career instead of tweeting about him online.

Despite the controversy, Oliveira’s victory improved his professional record to 37-11-1. The win also marked his second straight victory since his knockout loss to Ilia Topuria at UFC 317.

Meanwhile, Topuria is preparing for a major fight against interim champion Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 at the White House. The winner of that bout could eventually face Oliveira.
