All four titles for Indian teams at Indian Open TT championships

The B teams of India toppled superior A teams to win the both the boys' and the girls' titles in the ONGC-Indian Open Global Junior Table Tennis championships on Thursday.

DEHRADUN: The B teams of India toppled superior A teams to win the both the boys' and the girls' titles in the ONGC-Indian Open Global Junior Table Tennis championships on Thursday.
G Sathyan scripted the victory of the B team in the junior boys' competition as he won both the singles - against Harmeet Desai and Soumyajit Gosh - in his side's 3-2 win at the Maharapratap Sports College Complex on Thursday.

However, Sourav Saha also contributed in the win as he won the decisive fifth match against Desai.
In the girls event, India B triumphed after Reeth Tennison and Ankita Das first won their singles and then combined to win doubles match to seal the tie.
Tennison came from behind to beat Manika Batra in the first match and then Ankita got the better of Mallika Bhandarkar in the second singles.
Tennison and Ankita then easily beat Manika and Mallika. In the Cadet boys competition also, India B emerged winner by eding past the India A team 3-2.
However, in the Cadet girls event, it was India 'A which triumphed as it beat Sri Lanka 3-0.

Ankita Das bt Mallika Bhandarkar 11-4, 12-10, 10-12, 11-9;
Reeth and Ankita bt Manika and Mallika 11-5; 6-11; 11-9, 11-3.
