The first basket that India converted came in the second minute of the 10-minute contest. Soon, they switched their defensive gears to an all-round attack with Harsh Dagar and Pranav Prince scoring multiple baskets while forcing Chinese Taipei into foul trouble.
By the fifth minute, India had equalised at 6-6, Arvind then led the team to a memorable victory with a team-high nine points. Arvind ensured India regained the advantage (15-14) with a couple of free throws.
