NEW DELHI: The Sub-Junior National Rugby Sevens Championships 2024, scheduled to commence on February 11th, 2025, at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, marks a significant milestone for Indian Rugby.

This event will witness the introduction of contact rugby for the Sub-Junior cohort of players (U15), a gradual transition from touch rugby, aligning with the federation's ambition to strengthen the Indian national age-grade teams.

The championship boasts a total participation of 21 teams in the U15 girls' category, with 252 players vying for the coveted trophy.

The defending champions, Bihar, will be looking to continue their winning streak, while Maharashtra and Rajasthan, ranked second and third respectively, will be closely contesting to dethrone the champions and claim the gold.

The tournament will be held across two days, with teams divided into seven pools:

Complete Pools:

  • Pool A: Bihar, Assam, and Delhi
  • Pool B: Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa
  • Pool C: Rajasthan, Haryana, and Manipur
  • Pool D: Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh
  • Pool E: Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttarakhand
  • Pool F: Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chandigarh
  • Pool G: Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab
