Roopam elected as Delhi Basketball Association secretary-general

Basketball Federation of India CEO Roopam Harish Sharma was elected as honorary secretary general of the Delhi Basketball Association in the recently held general council meeting.

BANGALORE: Basketball Federation of India CEO Roopam Harish Sharma was elected as honorary secretary general of the Delhi Basketball Association in the recently held general council meeting on Sunday.
Dr. DR Saini was re-elected as president of the association for the term 2012-2016. In addition to this, Devinder Singh was elected as senior vice-president and Ashok Rangeen as treasurer for the following term.

While most vice-presidents from the previous term were re-elected, Shakti Singh (Royal Club), VP Niroola (Montfort School) and Rajesh Kumar (Modern School) gathered majority votes, along with Seema Singh (IP College) unopposed as joint secretaries of Delhi Basketball Association.
Roopam Sharma added that "The additional responsibilities conferred on me by the DBA, it will be my duty to work with the utmost sincerity and dedication to bring in positive initiatives to promote basketball in Delhi."

President - Dr. DR Saini (Principal, DPS, RK Puram). Sr. vice-president - Devinder Singh. Vice presidents - Amita Rana (Miranda House); Mukesh Kohli; Rajan Manchanda; Capt. Srikant Sharma (Oxford School); Anuradha Amos (St. Thomas School); Pradeep Kapoor.
