Tamil Nadu's teams continued to sparkle in the 11SPORTS 63rd
National School Games Table Tennis Championships
, winning their second straight league matches in all the six categories that they are competing in Vadodara on Wednesday.
The state's Under-17 Girls, who are top seeded in the championship, led the charge, routing Odisha on Day 2.
Saharmitha
S began with a fluent 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 13-11) victory over Nandini Biswal. Maria Ancy had to forget her first game loss before beating Sikriti Bhagat 3-1 (6-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-4).
Hema then tamed Yoshita 11-7, 11-8, 11-1 to give her team the maximum points.
Tamil Nadu's Under-14 Girls began by losing their opening game against Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan but had enough depth to prevail 3-1. Neeha Jael lost a keenly fought tussle against Swetha Dutta 2-3 (9-11, 6-11, 11-6, 16-14, 7-11) but her teammates made up by scoring easy wins.
Kavya Shree set the tie up, easily beating Sai Naumrata 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-6) and Swetha Dutta 3-1 (7-11, 11-1, 11-2, 11-7). In between, Kaviya Shree downed Sayony Saha 3-0 (11-3, 12-10, 11-6) to douse KVS.
TN's boys too were in good form, with the Under-14 kids and Under-19, both, whipping Jammu & Kashmir teams 3-0. The Under-17 team overcame CBSE Welfare Sports Organisation 3-0.
