CHANDIGARH: India's Olympics gold-winning shooter Abhinav Bindra's Foundation on Saturday said that it has adopted 20 villages in Punjab for "sports activities and talent search".
"The Abhinav Bindra Foundation has adopted the villages where activities in respect to sports development and talent search will be conducted starting from Mohali and Hoshiarpur districts," a release issued by the Foundation said.

It said that Abhinav Bindra had conceived the idea to adopt the villages and the Foundation was working to realise his aim.
In this regard, the ace shooter's father, AS Bindra, on Friday met Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also holds the sports portfolio, and apprised him about the Foundation's efforts in the field of sports, the release said.
It said the Foundation is working with the objective to develop the potential available in sports and providing necessary support to the sportspersons, who are at the grass root level.
