India vs Bangladesh Highlights, 2nd T20I: Nitish, Rinku fire India to series-clinching win over Bangladesh

A dominant India claimed the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with an 86-run hammering of the visitors in the second game in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Asked to bat first, India scored an imposing 221 for nine and then stopped their opponents at 135 for nine for the home team's biggest win against Bangladesh.

Veteran Mahmudullah, who is retiring after the final match of the series, waged a lone battle with a 39-ball 41.

Sanju Samson started the India innings with a couple of boundaries but failed to carry on for long, while Abhishek Sharma and skipper Suryakumar Yadav too did not last long enough as the hosts slipped to 41 for three in the sixth over.

Nitish Reddy (76 off 34 balls) and Rinku Singh (53 off 29 balls) led India's recovery with a superb partnership of 108 runs for the fourth wicket.

Hardik Pandya then smashed a 19-ball 32 to consolidate India's innings.

The second T20 international promises to be a run-fest. On this pitch, a lot of runs have been scored historically in the past. Not a big ground by any stretch of imagination. 55m and 63m square, 72m straight down the ground. This has been a fabulous pitch in the IPL. It's been 200+ consistently. It seems really hard, it's going to be a nightmare for the bowlers to bowl on this surface. It looks like one of those surfaces where even 200 might not be enough. Recently, a local T20 tournament, 300 runs were scored on this same surface. Teams that have batted first have won the games - five out five in the IPL. I'll bat first, but with the dew around, you never know.

The stakes are higher for the 29-year-old Samson, who is aiming to solidify his position as wicketkeeper in the absence of Pant. With the T20 World Cup still two years away, a series of consistent performances as both opener and wicketkeeper could make him a strong contender for future selections in the white-ball formats.
