Ad-hoc committee for WFI successfully conducts U-17 & U-23 wrestling selection trials

SONEPAT/PATIALA: The Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) Ad-hoc committee has successfully concluded the wrestling selection trials for the upcoming U-17 and U-23 wrestling Asian Championships, scheduled to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. A total of 1347 wrestlers participated in the event.The four days programme was organised at Sports Authority of India's (SAI) Sonepat and Patiala regional centres and saw support from many technical officials and corporate partners.Speaking about the trails, Bhupinder Sing Bajwa, member, ad-hoc committee, said, “The ad-hoc committee is ensuring that athletes are not inconvenienced in any way while the activities of the WFI are temporarily suspended. The committee conducted these trials within seven days to ensure that athletes could participate for the competition. I am thankful to all technical officials performing their duties with utmost sincerity and hard work. I also thank the associated partners and SAI without their support we could not have successfully conducted the trials which saw such a huge gathering.
