Fantastic NBA Career

Pippen's NBA career started with a trade that is now considered one of the most significant draft-day deals in league history. He went to the Chicago Bulls and, along with Michael Jordan, transformed the team into an iconic championship team that won six NBA titles. Pippen was selected 10 times to the NBA All-Defensive Team for his defensive prowess, and he could play at several positions, from point guard to power forward.


Some of the many accolades that Pippen has include playing in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games with the famous "Dream Team." He is unique for being the only player to win an Olympic gold medal and an NBA championship in the same year twice. As such, he has earned his place in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as an individual and as part of the Dream Team.

Pippen's legacy extends to 12 seasons with the Bulls, a short stint with the Houston Rockets, and four years with the Portland Trail Blazers, making the playoffs an impressive 16 times. His jersey was retired by the Bulls, making him one of the greatest legends in the history of the NBA along with Michael Jordan.

Scottie Pippen Family

Scottie was born to Preston and Ethel Pippen. He was the youngest of 12 children, and his parents, although not wealthy, encouraged education. His father, who worked at a paper mill and later became paralyzed, taught his children to be strong.

Scottie's personal life seems to mirror his dynamic career with seven children, whose basketball exploits have continued the family dynasty. He got married to Karen McCollum and then Larsa Pippen (m. 1997–2021). His children are Scotty Pippen Jr., Justin Pippen, Antron Pippen, Sierra Pippen, Preston Pippen, Taylor Pippen, Tyler Roby Pippen. Scotty Pippen Jr., currently signed for two years with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract, is quite an example of the familial talent that Pippen flaunts.

A Legacy Cast in Bronze

Pippen's dedication to the team was awarded an honor in 2011 when the Chicago Bulls, in appreciation of Pippen's dedication to their game, unveiled a bronze statue at the United Center. Pippen described himself when he said, "Words really can't express my feelings. It's something you dream of as a kid growing up, but you can never foresee those childhood fantasies becoming reality."
