A great lineup of talented players can totally change the trajectory of the team in the NBA Championship. From trading off players for popular yet talented ones to rotating the players- team owners end up taking risks before any championship. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the LA Lakers are one of the most talented teams in the history of the NBA. The Lakers even registered the NBA championship under their name back in the 2019-20 NBA championship. Recently, ex-Lakers player Rajon Rondo reflected back on the poor decision-making that went on to plague the performance of the Lakers over the years.

Former Laker’s Alum Rajon Rondo Criticizes Rob Pellinka And Jean Buss’s Expensive Mistake

During an appearance on the widely watched The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, Former Lakers star Rajon Rondo reflected back on one of the most costly decisions made by the team’s president Jean Buss, and manager Rob Pellinka. While talking about the strategy of the Lakers back in 2020, he said-

“No, I definitely don’t think it capped there. I mean you win a championship, you feel like you have the blueprint and you got to run it to see if anybody has figured it out before you,”

He further went on to address the rotation of the players on the roster by Pellinka and Buss, which changed the trajectory of the championship-winning team. Rondo pointed out-

“I said we were able to adjust, we’ve been through seven-game series, we’ve been battle tested so you know so I think we already hit the button next year and figure out how to win it again,”

The team of LA Lakers was dismantled during the off-season in 2020 by Rob Pellinka. Reputed players like Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo were removed from the team back then, which took a toll on the overall performance of the Lakers.

Rajon Rondo Believes That LeBron James Is The Greatest Player Of All Time

During an appearance on The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, Rajon Rondo praised his fellow teammate LeBron James. Both James and Rondo played for the LA Lakers for three seasons. While talking about the NBA GOAT, he said-

"It was always a hell of a line of respect that we had for each other... I've never seen anybody take care of their body like him... He attacks the weight room the way he attacks his on-court off-the-court workouts... He's arguably the greatest player of all time."

Rajon Rondo’s 16-year-long career graph is illustrated with reputed teams like the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, and Chicago Bulls.
