Inside: USA premiered this month, but was of course filmed beforehand, and a clip from the show has now revealed to fans Howard's reaction to learning about his induction first hand, and let's get this straight, it was emotional.
Dwight Howard could not stop his tears
Dwight Howard initially looked very calm and composed when reading about the news of his induction to the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025. But in another scene it can be clearly seen how emotional he became after it finally sunk in. He was brought to tears with the news, and his rivals in the house became the first people who got to learn about the news after him.
His championship with the Los Angeles Lakers back in 2020 was a big part of his HoF induction. And he actually invited Shaquille O'Neal, who walked out Howard at his Hall of Fame induction, marking a resolution of their years-long feud.
How Dwight Howard learnt about his Hall of Fame induction
For the filming of the reality show, Inside: USA, Dwight Howard did not have his phone with him for 7-days, with no communication with the outside world. So when his team learnt about the news of his induction, they contacted the show's crew to let Howard in on it. His friend Mu Real shared the video posted by Howard on his Instagram stories, with the caption,
“@dwighthoward Legendary �� He couldn’t have his phone for the 7 days filming…so when we got the call I had to tell the staff at Netflix to let him know the news."
Howard shared the video along with some more pictures and videos with his Inside housemates, who he says have become like a family to him. And if he won the show and the prize money of $1 million, he would give it away to the rest of the cast, the staff, and to charity.
