Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton breaks silence on Minneapolis fatal shooting incident involving 37-year-old nurse

The tragic incident in Minneapolis grabbed everyone’s attention. A 37-year-old man was fatally shot by a federal immigration officer after allegedly taking away a gun from him. As per reports, he had the legal permit to carry the firearm. The incident created chaos and garnered attention from almost everyone. The NBA even decided to postpone the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors.

While athletes from the league started sharing their opinions on the incident, Tyrese Haliburton also decided to join the line. The Indiana Pacers star unapologetically posted on X, raising his voice for the deceased. This is the second instance in the last couple of months where an individual has been fatally shot by the agents.

Tyrese Haliburton speaks up for Minneapolis community after recent fatal incident

Alex Pretti worked as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System. The incident sparked protests immediately across the city. It also involved athletes and players from different sports around the world. NBA star and legend Tyrese Haliburton also joined the protest. He resorted to his social media account and X to raise his voice. Without much hesitation, the athlete bluntly drafted a post. He wrote, “Alex Pretti was murdered.”


The statement from Tyrese generated significant reactions from the fans. Some of them appreciated the fact that the athlete decided to raise his voice for the community. Fans even called him their favorite for being honest and truthful to the cause. However, a few of them raised questions. Tyrese did not issue any statement during Charlie Kirk’s incident, which was pointed out by one of the fans. There was basically a mixed reaction to Tyrese’s statement on the issue.

NBA postpones game between Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors

The league decided to postpone the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors. The game was supposed to be held on January 24 and was rescheduled for January 25. They announced it through the official page of NBA Communications on X. The post read, “The National Basketball Association game scheduled for today between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been postponed.”


The notification further mentioned, “The decision was made to prioritize the safety and security of the Minneapolis community. The game has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Jan 25) at 5.30 pm ET at Target Center.”
