On Wednesday afternoon LaMelo Ball was involved in a two-car crash in uptown. The incident occurred at the busy intersection of Trade and Tryon shortly after 4 p.m., according to local traffic records. Video from area outlets showed Ball’s camouflage-colored, custom 2022 GMC Hummer EV colliding with a charcoal sedan in the middle of the city.The key detail came soon after. A person familiar with the situation confirmed that the Charlotte Hornets guard was not injured. One individual from the crash was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to medic officials. Police responded to the scene, though a full report was not immediately available. Ball later exited the vehicle wearing an aqua Hornets hoodie and left in another car.

Is LaMelo Ball alright after the Charlotte crash?

Yes. LaMelo Ball did not sustain injuries in the collision, according to a source told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Video footage showed him stepping out of the disabled truck calmly before departing the area.
The impact appeared strong. The Hummer’s left front tire was completely torn off, and the vehicle came to rest blocking the city’s Gold Line streetcar tracks.
Footage from WSOC-TV and other local outlets captured the aftermath as officers approached on foot. The driver of the other vehicle exited and walked toward Ball’s vehicle. The crash took place hours after the Hornets completed practice. Charlotte has won 10 of its last 11 games and is set to host the Houston Rockets as the NBA resumes following the All-Star break.

Ball was driving a custom-made, camouflage-wrapped GMC Hummer EV at the time of the accident. The electric truck sustained visible damage and had to be left at the scene. Reports indicate Ball later entered a trailing vehicle and was driven away.The 22-year-old guard is currently sidelined with a calf injury and last played on Feb. 11, when he scored 24 points against Atlanta. His status with the team remains unchanged following the crash. As of now, it is confirmed that Ball is alright; however, there is no report of his return to the court following the crash.
