Stephen Curry opens up about how his family background did not help in his career
A few months ago, as Stephen Curry promoted his popular memoir, Shot Ready, he spoke to TODAY.com about his career.
Stephen Curry said, "The blessing of being in a basketball family and having a dad who played in the NBA, yeah, I had access to a gym, I had equipment, I had all the opportunities in that respect, but it didn’t actually match up with my journey through the ranks…”
The four time NBA champion added, "I was the last kid on my 9- and 10-year-old team, and I was the smallest kid on pretty much every team I played on until I got to college…”
The Golden State Warriors’ star player continued, "I developed a work ethic through just understanding that I love to play the game, I had fun playing, and it was my journey, not my dad’s journey…”
Over the last decade, Stephen Curry has turned out to be one of the most popular and talented athletes in the world.
Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry, has proven to be a strong support to his career over the last decade
Away from the court, Stephen Curry also has a fulfilling life at home with his wife,
Ayesha Curry, and their four young children.
Though there have been a lot of criticisms about Stephen Curry’s marriage to his wife, Ayesha Curry, she has stayed by his side through everything that he has faced in his career.
The two started dating when they were young adults and got married just a few years later, when they were 23 year olds.
In the last few months, Stephen Curry’s marriage to his wife, Ayesha Curry, has been through a lot as the two have been brutally trolled for some of her controversial remarks on their marriage.
To make matters worse, many fans have urged the NBA legend to “divorce” Ayesha Curry since they feel she does not “respect” their marriage.
Amid all the mess, Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry have maintained their distance from the drama.
