The New York Knicks have won the NBA Cup against the San Antonio Spurs. Jalen Brunson, who has been one of the top scorers for the Knicks throughout the tournament, was named the NBA Cup MVP. It is to be noted that the athlete won the award almost unanimously across the media panel votes. In the finals, Brunson racked up 25 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Even throughout the regular season, the athlete is leaving a mark within the league. He is currently averaging 28.8 points with 3.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists. With these stats, the athlete has occupied a place in the contenders list for the NBA MVP race as well. Currently, the top five of the race include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic. Having won the NBA Cup MVP, Brunson might just have reaffirmed his position in the NBA MVP race.
