NEW DELHI: The Cleveland Browns have added a dynamic dimension to their receiving corps with the acquisition of wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in a trade with the Denver Broncos, sources confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday. The deal is expected to be finalized once the new league year commences on Wednesday.

To secure Jeudy, the Browns will send a 2024 fifth- and sixth-round pick to the Broncos, according to sources. Cleveland's interest in Jeudy dates back to the previous offseason, and with the Broncos undergoing changes, including the departure of quarterback Russell Wilson, the opportunity to acquire the talented wideout emerged.

Jerry Jeudy, set to turn 25 next month, brings an impressive skill set to the Browns after a solid season with the Broncos, where he recorded 54 receptions for 758 yards and two touchdowns. The addition of Jeudy provides a valuable target for Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, complementing Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper and Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku.

A first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jeudy is entering the final year of his rookie contract, having had the fifth-year option exercised by the Broncos last year. His 2024 salary is set at almost $13 million. Notably, Jeudy, Cooper, and wide receiver Elijah Moore, whom the Browns acquired last offseason instead of Jeudy, are all entering the final year of their respective contracts.

Jeudy's departure from Denver is part of the Broncos' strategic moves to reshape their roster and create salary cap space. The team has cleared nearly $50 million in cap space over the past five days through various transactions, including the trade of Jeudy.

This move may pave the way for wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. to assume a more significant role in the Broncos' offense. Broncos coach Sean Payton expressed the coaching staff's desire to increase Mims' involvement in the offense, and Mims, a second-round pick last year, may find himself in a more prominent position with Jeudy's departure.

Jerry Jeudy's arrival in Cleveland adds firepower to the Browns' offense, providing another potent weapon for Deshaun Watson as they aim for success in the upcoming NFL season.
